Obituary of Paul Dante Torre

Paul Dante Torre, D.D.S., 96 years of Leonia, passed away on Thursday January 6, 2022.  Paul was born in West New York, NJ, but moved and spent most of his early years in Hoboken, NJ.  He attended local schools and graduated from A.J. Demarest High School in 1942.  

Paul joined the Navy and was in Naval Aviation Training until the end of WW II.

After the war, he went on to Seton Hall College and to Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at University of Maryland and graduated in 1951. He had dental offices in Cliffside Park and then Fort Lee, NJ.

Paul was a lifetime member of the A.D.A., was a member at one time of the Cliffside Park Board of Education, a charter member of the Cliffside Park Rotary Club, receiving one of the most prestigious awards, the Paul Harris Fellow. He was an avid outdoorsman and a very skilled archer and fisherman. 

Paul is survived by his adoring wife, Marilyn and loving daughter, Denise. He is also survived by his nephews Tom and Matthew Torre and their spouses, nieces Michaela Sullivan and spouse and Janine Torre. Great uncle to Mia Sullivan, Wynn Ann and Olivia Torre and his sister-in law, Virginia Torre.  Paul was predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Rose Torre (née Giardina), and his brothers, Sal Torre and Dr. Michael R. Torre.  

Visitation will be Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 3-7 PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ 07010. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home, 1 Veterans Plaza, Paramus, NJ 07652 or to Rotary International at rotary.org (link to Rotary International on the left of the bio). 

 
               Due to the current health concerns, masks will be required to enter our building and limitations on number of people in the chapel will be enforced.
