Obituary of Werner H Rossbach Jr.
Werner H Rossbach Jr., 96, of Bogota, passed away on Sunday May 22, 2022. Beloved husband of 63 years of the late Anita A. Rossbach (nee Paller) (2013). Werner is survived by his loving sons Frederick Rossbach, his wife Heidi and Werner Rossbach III. Werner was the owner/operator of Rossbach Monuments in West New York, NJ, which operated from 1929 until 2000, helping countless families memorialize their loved ones passing.
He proudly served in the US Army during WWII as a member of a 105 MM Cannon Crew in combat duty with Battery B 247th Field Artillery Battalion in the Asiatic Pacific Theater for 19 months. As number one crewman he controlled elevation and sighting. Werner took part in the Cebu campaign. His commendations include Army of Occupation Medal; Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26 from 4-8 PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 11:15 AM. Interment to follow at 12:30 PM at Fairview Cemetery 500 Fairview Avenue, Fairview, NJ.
