Obituary of Robert Cadien Doerner
Robert “Bobby” Cadien Doerner, of Hackensack, NJ, was born on May 18th 1953, in Philadelphia to Robert Doerner and the late Joan Cadien.
Bobby grew up in Northern New Jersey and on Long Island and graduated from Long Island Lutheran High School. Bobby was a master plumber, owning and operating his business, Bob Doerner Plumbing and Heating, for over 30 years. He was the resident plumber at the Horizon House in Fort Lee for most of his career. Bobby was a huge New York Yankees fan, and an avid fan and collector of music and movies.
Bobby married Patricia Roeder in 1978. His pride and joy in life were their daughters, Sarah Lauren Doerner and Jessica Lawrence Doerner, both of Hackensack, New Jersey. He and Patty were married for 16 years, and despite divorcing, maintained a wonderful friendship throughout the years.
Bobby is survived by his father, Robert Doerner, sister Tracey Doerner and brother Gregg Doerner and his nephews, Gregg Doerner, Justin Doerner, Steven Brodesser, and Keith Brodesser. He was preceded in death by his nephew Christopher Doerner.
He will be greatly missed by his cousins - Kelly Liso and her husband Larry, and his “nieces” Kayley and Livia, his cousin and best friend John Ashenden and his wife Denise and their son Ian, and his cousin Leigh Scavetta. Bobby was also loved and supported by Patty’s family - her sisters Linda Davidson and Stevie Gaughan, and his nieces and nephews - Jill Morrison, James Morrison and Katie Spengler.
Above all, Bobby will be remembered as a caring and wonderful friend and father with an unmatched sense of humor.
