Obituary of William A. Pelicot
William Alberto Pelicot was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Celeste Diaz de Pelicot and Luis A. Pelicot. He came to the US at the age of 4 and lived out his life in different areas of New York State. He became a US citizen at age 18, became an Eagle Scout, and while studying at the City College of New York (CCNY), he was a Japanese interpreter at the UN. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University.
His early career started at J. Walter Thompson (the renowned ad agency), and moved on to head up the marketing team for several products at Nabisco (including Life Savers, BubbleYum Bubble Gum, Junior Mints and Mini Chips Ahoy Cookies). After an illustrious career in Marketing, he retired to live in Upstate NY and became the owner of a landscaping company.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many hours of skiing (becoming a Top Level ski instructor), flying model airplanes, and target practice.
William is survived by his daughter, Dawn, granddaughter Emilia; sister, Evelyn Bellew (nee Pelicot); brother-in-law, Richard Bellew; nephew, Mark Bellew; and grand-niece, Serafina Celeste Bellew.
He is also survived by his half-sister, Brenda Pelicot-Ortiz and her family Eric Ortiz, Erin Ortiz Comite, and Sean Ortiz; and by his half-brother, Edwin Pelicot and his family, Mark Pelicot and Kristyn Pelicot; as well as his dear friend, Ann Mangano, and Godson Thomas Cooke, and many other dear family members and friends.
Wake will be held on Thursday, January, 18, 2024 from 4PM – 8PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home 780 Anderson Avenue Cliffside Park, NJ 07010. Family and friends to gather at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 2367 Lemoine Avenue Fort Lee, NJ 07024 for Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:30AM. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery 114 Sprain Road Yonkers, NY 10710.
