Barbara and I are very sorry to hear of your loss. Your dad was a very good man and will be sorely missed. We both remember him as a person who always had a smile on his face. He always was very nice to my parents when they were members of the American Legion. I was glad to see him again at the Hall of Fame dinner. He will be remembered as a great supporter of Cliffside Park.

I have only known Richard for the last 8 months and in those 8 months he has made an amazing impression on me. He ALWAYS had a cheerful word and would always help me out when he could. Visiting his house was like visiting “Nana & Papa’s” house…the kindness and hospitality made you feel like part of his family. He was instrumental in helping my students (and me) publish their book about a veteran and my gratefulness will be eternal.

The first time we met Richard and he gave us the history of the Purple Heart and loaned it to us, so we could photograph it for our book.
