Samuel J. Esposito
Samuel J. Esposito, age 87 of Cliffside Park, NJ passed on Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born in Fairview, lived in Dumont then Cliffside Park, NJ. He spent winters in Fort Myers, Florida and most recently lived in Paramus, NJ.
Samuel was an Army veteran (63rd Field Artillery Battalion, Gunner and Guard patrolman) who served 1946 – 1947, World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Samuel was a long time Member of the Fort Lee VFW, Post 2342.
He was a volunteer fireman in Dumont, NJ. Retired from Lever Brothers 8/12/58 – 5/1/77.
He was the best father, grandfather and great grandfather who cherished his family above all. He is well known to be a kind and generous person who wanted to help those in need, especially the children. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards and was an avid walker, loved to dance and sing and enjoyed traveling and taking his family on vacation yearly.
Samuel was a parishioner of the Epiphany Church. He enjoyed his friends from the Fort Lee and Cliffside Park Senior Centers along with membership in the AARP and VFW in Fort Lee.
He is predeceased by his wife, Louise E. Esposito (1999). He is survived by his daughters; Lynn Nowak and her husband Theodore of Brooksville, FL, Gail Esposito of Cliffside Park and Pammy Esposito of Fort Lee; loving grandfather of Robert, Amanda and Cally Esposito; and adored great-grandchild Rebecca Esposito.
Relatives and Friends may visit on Friday, March 11, from 2 – 4 or 6 – 8 at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park and attend the 10 AM mass on Saturday, March 12, at Epiphany Church, 247 Knox Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. An Internment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
His family gratefully acknowledges the dedicated and compassionate care he received from his care teams at; Accredited Health Services, Hackensack, NJ along with the Gallen Adult Day Health Care Center/Jewish Home in Rockleigh, NJ and the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home.
