Anthony E. Lauria (93) of Ridgefield, NJ, passed peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Beloved husband of Anita Lauria (nee Gherardi). Loving father of Anita Lauria and Jim Lauria. Cherished grandfather of Gina Lauria and Alex Lauria-Daley. Dear brother of the late Joseph Lauria and Mary Lauria. Tony proudly served in the US Navy during WW II as a Motor Machinist Mate First Class. He loved to fish at Montauk Point and was known as "Tony the Lighthouse Keeper". He caught thousands of striped bass and harvested his own clams to make his famous linguine and clams sauce. He was a genuine Mr. Fix It and loved to ballroom dance. Funeral from McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ, on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Nicholas R.C. Church, 442 East Brinkerhoff Avenue, Palisades Park, NJ, at 10 AM. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery/Mausoleum, Hackensack, NJ. Visiting hours on Sunday, July 16th, from 2-4 & 6-8. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anthony E. Lauria to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 would be appreciated.
