Obituary of Michael Armstrong

     Michael Armstrong, 74, of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Edgewater, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, by his late parents Martin Armstrong and Mary Armstrong (nee Egan). He enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy.  After his service to his country he joined the Jersey City Fire Department where he attained the rank of Captain and Exempt Status.

     Michael was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Armstrong (nee Giampavolo). Loving father of Michael Armstrong, Thomas Armstrong, his wife Kerri, Gregory Armstrong, his wife Denise, Robert Armstrong, his wife Donna, Annemarie Armstrong, Rebecca Harrison, her husband Ronald, Bernadette Armstrong, Martin Armstrong and John Armstrong. Dear brother of Marilyn McCann, her husband Ed, and the late Patricia Armstrong, Therese King and Joseph Armstrong. Brother-in-law of David King and Wendy Armstrong. Cherished grandfather of Megan, Taylor, Michael, Charlene, Kaycee, Thomas, Jack, Gregory, James, Joseph, Amanda, Ryan, Shane, Brice, Darin, Ashley, Samantha, Jessica, Caitlin, Julia, Freddy Jr., Hailey, Addison, Morgan, Bethany, and Johnny. Caring great-grandfather of one. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

     Funeral from McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 9 AM . Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Edgewater, NJ, at 10AM. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visiting hours on Monday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
