Ricky “Rocco” Caporale To All Family and Friends
Sunday 01/10/2021
My Little Brother Ricky “Rocco” “The Rock” passed away early Sunday morning at approximately 3:00 AM.
His nickname was fitting considering the “Valiant Fight” he put up in his desire for life. According to his nurse at the Acute Care Physical Rehab Facility, it was only a week ago that she was talking with him, I asked talking, which I found to be remarkable as our family, was only allowed one FaceTime per day with him ( COVID RULES) and in that short period of time each day it was difficult to hear him speak, I asked how well, she said Fine she said she could understand him then she explained he was having a good day and they were having a discussion when he asked her if she plays cards and he explained he used to like going to Atlantic City, then he told her he loves watching “Football” he was a “BIG GIANTS FAN” ! As he used to call me every Sunday to say “GO BIG BLUE” in a Booming Happy Voice! That was his Happy Day Sunday Giants Football
Myself and his Wife Lisa were with him from 1:00PM Saturday when we went to the Long Term Care Facility in Rochelle Park to be with him as he was being prepared for his journey to Villa Marie Claire Hospice at Holy Name Hospital, in Teaneck which is a Great Place. Tommy could not come as he was waiting in Quarantine per COVID rules. He hopefully doesn’t have COVID however due to exposure he had to Quarantine.
So myself and Lisa stayed with Ricky in his room at Hospice.
I watched 3 Super Saturday Playoff Football games with him.
During the day he had 3 Great FaceTime calls one with his Daughter Patti, who lives in Colorado and then our Brother Tommy who’s Quarantined at home in Closter, then with his nephew Little Tommy, who lives in Miami.
After the last game ended at about 12 Midnight I looked at Ricky and he looked clearly into my eyes as I said Good Night I love you my Brother, I’ll see you in the morning I gave him a Kiss and left, Lisa who’s a Great Girl who Loves Ricky so much slept in his room on a cot.
Then I was back at Ricky’s condo still awake when my phone rang at 3:03am it was Lisa crying telling me he just passed.
I got to his room about 3:30 we stayed with him until 5:30am.
I’m very sad yet I’m happy my Brother is at peace.
“Rock” you gave it as much as anyone could We are All so Proud of you, I Love you my Little Brother and will miss you forever.
It was my Privilege, Tommy’s and Lisa’s and your entire family to work as hard as we could to help you, our Absolute Privilege!
Ellen Fant you are a Great Nurse, Great Person my family is so Lucky to know you, we all thank you so much for your Help thank you Saint Ellen. And also my other Saint Ellen Lockhart my friend who guided me through Hospice .
I’m so lucky to have So Many Great Friends and Family So Many Thank You ALL SO MUCH !
My Father once said to me think about what people you would want to be in a Foxhole with, one For Sure would be my Little Brother “The Rock”
Rest In Peace in Heaven with the Angels My Brother Ricky, I’ll always Love You !
Your Brother Gary

Uncle Rick
You were always there for our family no matter what. I remembered all the trips we took to Mass to pick up textile tubes and all the fun we had doing it. All the Genius Madden football games we played in the basement and taking me down the shore like i was your son. You will never be forgotten and im sorry you had to leave us so soon. I love you Uncle Rick

Uncle Ricky
We will never forget the childhood memories that you were a huge part of. You always knew how to make us laugh and we are forever grateful for those times. Even though I was the smallest kid you always knew there was nothing I couldn’t do. You left too soon but will always be remembered.

To Our Dear Loving Uncle Rich- Thank you so much for the love you gave me, my brother and cousins growing up. You truly loved us as your own kids. My childhood would have been deprived of so much with out you and showing me to love our NY Giants! You spoiled us rotten and your heart was larger than life. Rest in Peace and look upon us from Gods view. A lot of who I am today, is what you did yesterday.
Love,
Anthony, Erin and Baby Simon
