Obituary of Jake Francis Ryan
Jake Francis Ryan passed away in his home accompanied with friends while asleep on Monday, January 22nd, 2024. Jake was born on September 25th, 1979, to Cathy and John Ryan in Beth Israel Hospital Manhattan NY. Jake's Dad John passed away in 2006. Jake and his dad were very close, sharing sports, travel and daily news events together. Jake's dad John taught him everything about sports! Jake's Mom Cathy remarried Rich O'Connell. Jake spent 28 years with a wonderful, caring Stepdad. Jake and Rich shared conversation about New York City, the theatrical industry and Jake discussed sports always teaching his mom and Rich!
Jake had a beautiful family that gave him love, friendship and support throughout his life. Jake was predeceased by his grandparents Estelle and Connie Haggerty and John Ryan Sr. Jake's Aunt Rita predeceased him and his surviving Aunts are Peggy, Catherine and his Aunt Eileen. Jake's Aunts flourished him with cousins and he was predeceased by Andree, Robert and Terry. Jake stayed very close to Renee, Terrie, Rob and Devin. Close Friends became family to Jake which are Nina, Kim, Geri and Rich. Jake loved children and spent much time with Devin, Savannah, Aidan and Cooper.
Jake loved to travel and his 2nd home was in Tampa to visit Denae, Julian, Diann and their family. Jake called Diann "His Tampa Mom".
Jake had many friends and as a young child at Visitation School, Bx., NY, Jake adopted Kevin, Rich and Robbie as his brothers. His sister-friends are Denae and Catalina.
Jake's forte was the Entertainment Business. Jake started his main work career being an extra in the theatrical world. He appeared in 'Love of the Game" with Kevin Costner in Yankee Stadium. Jake bartended for his Barry Family at the Punch Bowl and for the past 6 years, he worked for Madison Square Garden serving people from all over the world enjoying concerts and events. Jake loved his co-workers and supervisors at MSG. Jake loved seeing people have a good time!
Jake's mom, Cathy writes "My son Jake was the Most-Giving, Big-Hearted person I ever met and I am Blessed and Honored to have been given this Amazing gift called "JAKE".
